2023 will be a Major Milestone for Mori Building.

2023 will be a major milestone for Mori Building when Toranomon Hills and Azabudai Hills finally take shape as dynamic urban complexes. The time has come for the global spotlight to shine on these cutting-edge mixed-use urban centers that we have been highly focused on developing for decades. This will be the first time for Mori Building to complete two large-scale developments on the same scale as Roppongi Hills within a year. The magnitude of this achievement is almost beyond imagination, and yet we are about to accomplish this astonishing feat.

For more than 20 years, Mori Building has been advocating for "an era of competition among international cities" and "the need for large-scale urban renewal to help revitalize the Japanese economy." We have based our initiatives on the belief that cities, in order to attract people, companies, goods, financial assets and wisdom from around the world, must be organized compactly to concentrate their urban functions within walking distance, rather than focusing merely on economics as well as totally separating spaces for business and residence. With this thought, we have spent many years collaborating with local residents to crystalize our plans for large-scale urban redevelopments, and today, people widely recognize that urban renewal is essential for cities to withstand international competition.

Putting Toranomon Hills and Azabudai Hills on track will enable people to recognize the potential of our strategic area in central Tokyo's Minato Ward as a new international hub. As their surrounding communities redevelop, companies, facilities and stores befitting these international centers will flourish and thereby further raise the level and status of these entire areas. For this to happen, however, each facility in its respective complex must perform its best, after which the entire complex must maximize total performance by thoroughly connecting its many constituent facilities, functions and talented partners. At the same time, our various Hills complexes will be connected through their common initiatives for business, greenery, culture, infrastructure and digital transformation. In this way, they will function collectively as one strategically unified area that enhances the magnetism of Tokyo to attract global assets. Mori Building's plan for a new international hub will overlap with Tokyo's urban strategies as well as Japan's growth strategies, meaning that our mission and social responsibility bear tremendous weight.

If we continue to accomplish what we need to do in our unique Mori Building style, we will be able to open the way to the future for ourselves. The important thing is not to imagine passively what the future might bring, but to actively envision the kind of future that we want to carve out, driven by our spirit and determination to create the future with our own hands. We will face unprecedented difficulties and pressure this year, but precisely at times like this I ask everyone to remember why we put so much effort into creating our urban developments, and also to remember the huge societal significance of launching these two new "cities within a city." So let's commemorate the launches of our two new shining developments with joyous celebration!
