Shishido Hills CC West Course (Japan Golf Tour Championship)

With a circulation of 210,000 copies, Asian Golf Monthly is the only golf magazine that covers all of Asia. Every year readers vote online to choose the best courses and best resorts in each of 14 Asian countries and specific regions. This year there were more than 30,000 votes.

Spencer Robinson, managing editor of Asian Golf Monthly, said: "It is testament to the excellence of the Shishido Hills that the club has maintained its status as one of the top-three courses in Japan among Asian Golf Monthly readers. Given the outstanding range of clubs across Japan there are so many contenders and this year we received nominations for more than 50 courses in the country. Clearly Shishido Hills has set exceptionally high standards in the way in which the course is presented, as is acknowledged by those who are fortunate enough to play there."

For eight years straight Shishido Hills CC's West Course has hosted the Japan Golf Tour Championship, a men's major golf tournament sponsored by the Japan Golf Tour Organization. Many contestants come from Asian countries. The course also hosts the Japan tournament of the Faldo Series Asia, an amateur tournament created in 2007 by major champion Nick Faldo of the UK (qualifying tournaments are held in 12 Asian countries with the championships held at the Mission Hills Golf Club in China). Additionally, the club continually undertakes activities to spread golf with a global perspective, including by hosting annual tournaments such as the Embassies in Japan Golf Competition played by ambassadors from around the world and the Snag Golf JGTO Cup for third and fourth graders hoping to be global players in the future.
