The Shanghai World Financial Center (hereafter referred to as 'SWFC'), the world's tallest skyscraper complex (101 floors and 492 meters high), located in Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone Center, Pudong New Area in Shanghai, was selected as the 'Best Commercial Project' in the Architectural Record Awards 2010 "Good Design is Good Business" China Awards Ceremony in Shanghai on March 12, 2010.
The Good Design is Good Business Awards is led by the American monthly architecture magazine, Architectural Record, published by McGraw-Hill Construction of the major publishing company McGraw-Hill in the United States. The awards honor architects, designers, and developers around the world who best utilize design to achieve strategic business and public objectives. The China Awards were established in 2005 and were held for the third time this year. The awards have biannually honored architecture in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macau in six different categories; best commercial project (complex buildings with office space included), best public project, best residential project, best preservation project, best green project, and best planning project. This year, the SWFC was selected as the grand winner for Best Commercial Project.

McGraw-Hill Construction commented about the SWFC at the ceremony, "This landmark building is dense with many facilities such as a five-star hotel, office space, and commercial facilities. The owner's (Mori Building) bold vision led the completion of this building, and I believe the SWFC gives a fantastic new look to the Pudong New Area in Shanghai."

The World Expo 2010 will be held in Shanghai from May 1st to October 31st this year with the theme, "Better City, Better Life." The SWFC will strongly support the Expo by holding various events related to the participating countries.
