MAM Project is a series by the Mori Art Museum to support the activities of promising young artists

Koizumi Meiro (born 1976) is an up and coming young artist, who works predominantly with the medium of video. His early works, most of which were documentary videos of his own performances, were reminiscent of 1970s performance art. Koizumi's more recent works, however, tend to capture dialogues between the artist and the characters or scenes where the artist gives directions to the actors telling stories. They cover such topics as memories of childhood shared with thier mothers and trauma resulting from the breakup of relationships.
Sometimes comical and at other times violent, the stories depict emotions such as passion, rapture and anger while at the same time seeking to explore the fundaments of psychological states underlying those emotions. You could call these unique creations "dramas of humor and incongruity."
