Mori Building Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Minoru Mori) has decided to participate in the Study of Danger Project* (representative: Yotaro Hatamura), an initiative aimed at establishing structure for sharing with society information concerning various potential dangers.
Since the accident involving the revolving doors at Roppongi Hills Mori Tower on March 26, 2004, Mori Building has worked in a unified manner to improve the safety of all facilities it manages and operates. In addition to construction improvements and implementing an in-house structure for greater safety, the company has also proceeded with a variety of efforts with a common focus on ensuring safety. These efforts include participation in the Door Project, which was established to investigate the dangers posed by today's doors, led by Yotaro Hatamura, author of Shippaigaku ("The Study of Failure") and Sozogaku ("The Study of Creation").
As part of its continued efforts to promote safe and comfortable urban environments, Mori Building is supporting the new Study of Danger Project as a corporate sponsor, with Yotaro Hatamura serving as project representative. At the same time, Mori Building is providing support through a broad range of activities from the provision of facilities for testing and experimentation to participation in surveys and research as a project member.
* Study of Danger Project:
With the ultimate goal of preventing accidents, this project will carry out a wide range of surveys and research, including the elucidation of social, organizational, and individual ways of thinking and behavioral modes.
