Omotesando Hills, opened February 11 of last year as a landmark in Tokyo?s Omotesando neighborhood, will soon celebrate its first anniversary.

In advance of the project?s one-year anniversary on Sunday, February , an original pop-art illustration by artist Ryu Itadani, entitled Omotesando Hills, will make its debut Thursday, February 1 as an official commissioned anniversary work. In addition to an art exhibition and other displays of artwork inside the facility, activities promoting this anniversary will include advertising inside Omotesando Station to publicize the occasion.

Beginning Friday, February 2, each shop will feature limited-edition anniversary merchandise and menus. In addition, Omotesando Hills promotes itself to be stylish with display for all to experience through a range of events, including the opening of an anniversary cafe for a limited time over the St. Valentine?s Day season and the staging of special events.

Since its opening, Omotesando Hills has served as a ?Media Ship?—a cultural and commercial facility serving as a rich source of ideas and information. Repeat visitors, mainly the highly fashion-conscious men and women living or working nearby, have attended a series of unique and colorful art and cultural events. As it marks its first anniversary, the facility will work to increase its relevance as a center for the communication of culture and ideas and to improve its service even beyond the levels achieved in its opening year.
