"GREENROAD SIX plus ROPPONGI CLEAN UP," a large-scale cleanup project, is scheduled for the Roppongi area on April 8 (Sat). This joint effort is part of "ROPPONGI CLEAN UP," an ongoing series of periodic volunteer efforts to clean up the area around the Roppongi intersection, primarily undertaken by the Roppongi Hills community association, and "GREENROAD SIX," a cleanup project for the Roppongi 1-chome area.

< ROPPONGI CLEAN UP >
In Roppongi Hills, volunteer efforts to clean up the Roppongi area are carried out every third Saturday of the month, mainly by the Roppongi Hills community association.* These efforts generally involve nearly 70 people, consisting of those living and working in Roppongi Hills. They represent community activities that give people a rare opportunity to meet with and work with fellow residents. This occasion marks the 26th such event and the 3rd collaboration with other groups. Plans call for these efforts to continue and expand, with collaborations with other organizations and broadening of the area to be cleaned up.
* Roppongi Hills community association: consisting of some 800 residents, about 230 shops, and corporations and core facilities (such as Mori Building, Hollywood, TV Asahi, Toho Cinemas Roppongi Hills, the Grand Hyatt Tokyo and office tenants)

< GREENROAD SIX *>
Targeting the area from Tameike to Roppongi, this cleanup effort involves Samsung Japan Corporation, IBM Japan, and Fuji Xerox, all headquartered in Roppongi 1-chome. The first such effort in November 2005 involved some 100 individuals. The current effort will be the second event. Current plans call for three regular cleanup efforts per year.
* GREENROAD SIX: SIX refers to the first letters of Samsung, IBM and Xerox.
