TOKYO NODE “Design Ah! Exhibition neo” Now on Exhibit
Huge crowds every day! Cumulative total number of visitors exceeds 400,000 people, resulting in the exhibition being extended until October 13 (Monday, a national holiday)
“Design Ah! Exhibition neo,” an exhibition that provides a sensory experience of design, is now open at TOKYO NODE, Toranomon Hills’ hub for the dissemination of information (sponsored by TOKYO NODE [Mori Building], NHK, NHK Educational, and NHK Promotion). It was scheduled to run until September 23, 2025 (Tuesday, a national holiday), but popular demand has led to the exhibition being extended to October 13 (Monday, a national holiday).
“Design Ah! Exhibition neo” is an exhibition that brings to life the concept of “Design Ah! Neo,” a program on the NHK Educational TV channel, to an experiential space. The exhibition is being held for the first time in four years after the previous exhibition went on a nationwide tour. A new theme was set for this year’s exhibition, shifting from “things,” which was the theme of past “Ah!” exhibitions, to “actions (verbs),” conveying to children the joys of thought and discovery through design.
The large-scale exhibition is being held at TOKYO NODE’s Gallery, located 220 meters above ground and where visitors can look down on the observation deck of Tokyo Tower. It makes use of a unique space covering approximately 1,500 m2 with a maximum height of 15 meters. On display in the exhibition rooms are 35 works that comprise the steps of observing, thinking, and experiencing for verbs such as “walking,” “eating,” “sitting,” and “holding.”
