On this December 26 (Fri.) and 27 (Sat.) Mori Building Co., Ltd. and Golf Digest Sha Co., Ltd. will jointly host the "2008 Faldo Series Asia Japan Championship" , a tournament for amateur golfers aged 21 or younger held for the first time in Japan. The tournament will take place at Shishido Hills Country Club in Ibaraki Prefecture, a golf course run by Shishido International Golf Club Co., Ltd. which is one of our group's affiliated companies.

This tournament was started in 2006 by Britain's Nick Faldo, a major champion and three-time winner of both the Masters and the British Open, in order to nurture the next generation of golfers in Asia. Championships are held in the various Asian countries and the victors compete in the "Faldo Series Asia Grand Final" held at China's Mission Hills in March.
Championships have so far been held in a total of nine countries, including China, India, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, but this is the first time for it to be held in Japan.
Mori Building came to sponsor this championship in approval for its aim to produce results in the Asian golf world and rear the next generation of golfers.
On the opening day of December 26 (Fri.) a seminar will be held by Tsuneyuki Nakajima, eight times top in Japan and a player at the British Open and Masters, and Hiroshi Yamanaka, JGTO senior director and an official at the four major tournaments in the world. They will initiate the juniors in the secrets of success on the Asian and world stage.

The Mori Building Group runs two golf resorts: Shishido Hills C.C. and Shizu Hills C.C. The Shishido Hills West Course is a tournament course that has hosted the Japan Golf Tour Championship for seven consecutive years since 2003. Shizu Hills is a championship course designed by Tsuneyuki Nakajima that has hosted the Japan PGA Championship for two consecutive years and the Shizu Hills Tommy Cup (a JGTO Challenge Tournament) for three years in a row. It is also a perfect place to practice your golf with facilities such as a Par 3 course, a green for approach shots and a 280 yard driving range. There is a hotel with 34 rooms, making this a resort that all three generations in the family can enjoy.
