  • Hirakawacho Mori Tower A multipurpose re-development project that will virtually provide the core functions of Japan

This area is very close to the core functions of Japan, with many institutions that represent Japan such as the Imperial Palace and government agencies, the Diet Building, the Supreme Court of Japan, the National Theatre, etc., and halls of various organizations, international hotels, etc. located in the neighborhood. The project will develop open public spaces within the site and will create a mixed-use facility that offers office space of the highest standard and superior residences and thus realizes our philosophy of work and living spaces in close proximity to each other.

About the Project

Concepts

Through this category 1 urban redevelopment project we will reorganize this urban zone and combine the small, uneven plots of land to use them in an integrated way. This approach will enable us to solve the problem related to the use of the land, namely that a subway line runs across the site directly underneath it, and promote rational, sound, intensive and effective use of the land and the renewal of city functions.

By eliminating the elevation difference within the site and developing public open spaces, we will make the site a place suitable for temporary refuge at times of disasters and a place in which the residents of the area can relax.

We are building separate access routes for each use of the facility, utilizing the elevation difference of the site.
There are offices on the lower floors, residences on the higher floors, and a rooftop garden with a wonderful view on the rooftop.

The redevelopment building is created using the mega-beam construction method. The most important feature of the structural plan is that it ensures the safety of the shield of the subway Hanzomon Line directly under the building. To this end we decided on a structure in which the building load directly above the shield is at first borne by the highly rigid beams (mega-beams) crossing the shield, and then transmitted to the foundation by the stakes built into both sides of the shield. Moreover, we used mat slab type footing beams to keep their thickness down to 4.5 meters. We did this to make the vertical separating distance to the subway shield as long as possible and to allow for the impact of the building and the shield on each other.

There is a rooftop garden on the top floor. It offers a place to relax to the residents and office workers.
