Vibration-control engineering

State-of-the-art earthquake damage prevention measures include LOYAL vibration control studs and an Active Tuned Mass Damper (ATMD) system. The building's vertical structural supports are composed of concrete-filled tubes (CFT). Together these ensure the highest degree of safety.

Based on simulations of a wide variety of potential disaster scenarios, each floor is equipped with built-in double-sensitivity early-warning disaster detection and pressurized anti-smoke systems that help keep escape routes free of smoke in the event of fire. A rooftop helicopter hover area and a rescue standby space on the 25th floor (between the office and residential sections) offer safe evacuation routes in the event of emergencies. The building is also equipped with self-contained electricity, water and sewage services for three days, assuring that minimum necessary functions will remain operational even if city utility supplies are temporarily suspended.

ATMD (Active Tuned Mass Dampers)

This system uses specially designed equipment that allows the building to resonate with, absorb and reduce the shaking and swaying motions caused by earthquakes and strong winds, thereby ensuring rapid restoration of equilibrium and minimizing structural deformation.

LOYAL Tremor Control Studs

The LOYAL tremor control stud system incorporates extra-pliant steel studs with high plastic deformation capabilities into the building's frame to absorb seismic tremors, quell vibrations and shaking throughout the building, and minimize the potential of structural damage.

CFT Support Pillars

Concrete-filled steel tube support pillars provide superior resistance to tremors and fire.
