Launch party for The Michelin Guide Tokyo 2009 held at Omotesando Hills

On November 18, 2008, the launch party for The Michelin Guide Tokyo 2009 was held at Omotesando Hills. The prestigious restaurant guidebook, The Michelin Guide, is published annually and is now being released for the second time in Tokyo.

The ceremony took place at the Omotesando Hills Grand Staircase, and was attended by nearly 300 members of the media. Remarks were made by publishers of The Michelin Guide, and all restaurants receiving three stars were announced.

The following 6 restaurants located within Mori Building properties in Japan were recognized for receiving 9 stars in total:

L'ATELIER de Joel Robuchon (French/Hillside 2F)
FAMILY LI IMPERIAL CUISINE (Chinese/Roppongi Keyakizaka Dori 3F)
Roppongi Takeyabu (Japanese/ Roppongi Keyakizaka Dori 3F)
KEYAKIZAKA (Japanese/Grand Hyatt Tokyo 4F)

<Atago Green Hills>
Daigo (Japanese/Forest Tower 2F)

<Akasaka Tameike Tower>
Chemines (French/Annes 1F)

In total 9 restaurants in Japan received three stars, which is equivalent to the number in Paris. In addition, Tokyo received the largest number of stars of any city, 227 in total, exceeding that of even New York and Paris. Tokyo is now receiving global recognition, placed firmly in the spotlight as one of the world’s best dining cities.
